Recently I had the opportunity to eat at a wonderful restaurant in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Chef Lawrence "Chip" Johnson is the owner and chef of The Warehouse Restaurant and Gallery. The building is deceiving from the outside. It is, after all, a former warehouse. Once inside, the warmth and character of the space surrounds you. Think loft that doesn't know it's a restaurant. I ordered Forest Mushroom Ravioli and it did not disappoint. It was so creamy and delicious!
I had the chance to speak with Chef Johnson afterwards. I actually worked with him several years ago at a fine restaurant in Colorado Springs. It was nice to catch up. He explained to me his restaurant/gallery concept. It is his effort to support local artists. The artwork is amazing and features several talented artists. Aside from the great food and art, I was enthralled by the raw architecture of this space. Chef has done an amazing job with this restaurant concept. I give The Warehouse a giant THUMB'S UP!
